Rugby

Rugby is a fun sport which anyone can play, whether you’re short or tall, big or small there is a position for you on the team. In the local area there are lots of different opportunities to play from after school sessions to joining a local club and playing on Sunday mornings. Our Community Rugby Coach has been an important part of the development of rugby in the local area since 2004.

Key Goals

• Provide children and young people the chance to play rugby through fun and well organised coaching sessions and schemes.
• Develop club-school links and pathways to make it easier for young people to join local clubs’ junior sections.
• Provide more opportunities for schools to participate in matches and festivals.
• Provide coaching education for University students and local club coaches to improve the standard of coaching in the Portsmouth area.
• Provide University students with the opportunities to coach in the local schools and community.
